Describe the Incident(s) in complete detail. |
A car accident occurred on July 7th 2017 at the crossroad between E--- village and Thandaunggyi [Town], Thandaunggyi Township, Toungoo District. The car in this accident is owned by Tatmadaw Lance Corporal Aung Min Naing from Bu Yin Naung army camp. [However, the driver was not Aung Min Naing]. This car accident happened due to the careless driving by the individual who drove Aung Min Naing’s car. One person died and eight people were injured in the accident. Naw O--- who is 52 years old was one of the eight people who were injured. Naw O--- was seriously injured from the accident, as her left hand and one of her left ribs were broken. The injured people were sent to Bu Yin Naung military hospital on July 7th 2017 on the same day the accident happened. According X-ray results conducted by Bu Yin Naung military hospital, Naw O---’s left hand was broken. Nevertheless, Naw O--- was informed that she did not have to be hospitalised because the hospital determined it was a minor injury. She was provided with medication, bandages were applied to her [left] hand, and she was asked to return home and rest. The medicines that were provided by the hospital are Paracetamol and pills for curing stomach problems. She made an appointment to go to Bu Yin Naung military hospital after 10 days. As her injury became more painful, she went to Toungoo Hospital instead. She was told that the medicines that were given to her by Bu Yin Naung military hospital were not fit to treat her condition so she was advised by doctor Naw Sha Yo Paw from Toungoo Hospital not to take that medicine anymore. Therefore, she stopped taking the medicines that were provided by the Bu Yin Naung military hospital. All victims who were injured from this car accident were sent to Bu Yin Naung military hospital, which did a medical check with X-rays but told them they did not need to be hospitalised and asked them to go home. According to Naw O---, some victims thought that they had to be hospitalised, so they brought their beds and some basic things they might need [on the same day the accident happened] to the hospital but they were told that they did not have to. Villagers said that they [Aung Min Naing] did not provide any financial aid and take proper responsibility for their treatment. |
