he ongoing war in Karen state has displaced nearly 200,000, spreading across the Thai – Burma border and facing a deliberate blockade of aid by the junta regime.

On 08 June, Naw Htoo Htoo, Programme Director of Karen Human Rights Group (KHRG), said the lack of international funding and bureaucratic red tape stopping the essential humanitarian aid exacerbated the already worsening situation in Karen state.

Karen National Union (KNU) has repeated its call on urgent assistance needed for people being displaced by the ongoing war in the region on 29 May, as the junta army and its Border Guard Force (BGF) are showing no sign of slowing down its military operations in the region.
