Issue categories are based on reports received from villagers in eastern Burma who have been trained by KHRG to document and report on the issues that most impact their lives. KHRG staff then categorize the reported abuses, relying primarily on the villagers’ descriptions, and secondarily on international standards to define categories of abuse.
