The Karen Human Rights Group (KHRG) is a grassroots, locally led human rights organisation established in Karen State in 1992 and now operating across two states and two divisions in southeastern Burma/Myanmar. KHRG works with villagers in rural Burma to strengthen their ability to claim their human rights, documents the human rights situationon the ground, and conducts local and international advocacy. With twenty-seven years of experience, KHRG has been nominated twice for the Nobel Peace Prize, and received the Asia Democracy and Human Rights Award in 2013. This is a full-time position based in Thailand. The position primarily involves networking with local and international organizations while supporting existing advocacy activities and providing support for other projects as needed.
The applicant should be a confident speaker, capable of meeting and networking with CBOs, NGOs, and UN bodies, and ideally should have experience doing so. The applicant should be highly motivated and able to work with little supervision. The applicant must have the ability to travel.
